In his current research, Krystof focuses on publishing his dissertation manuscript, Christian Democratic Option, which explores the institutional and ideological survival of Christian democracy in Eastern Europe, based on the case study of Czechoslovakia. Simultaneously, he works on his 'second project,' entitled Liberalism beyond its Adversaries, which provides a transnational, synoptic history of liberalism in post-socialist Eastern Europe. The project examines how liberal ideas have been translated into party traditions, institutional practices, and strategies of democratic defense and repair. It also explores how these scripts are reactivated in moments of crisis, explaining not only how liberalism recedes and the language of the center dies, but also how it persists.

In addition to these two projects, I collaborate with Zsolt Enyedi on The New Transatlantic Conservatism: The Case of NatCon Conferences (2019–2026), a joint research project supported by Seed Money from the CEU Democracy Institute. The project examines the emergence and character of a transatlantic conservative intellectual and political network through the National Conservatism conferences and related platforms.
